Nathan Giesbrecht

Nathan and Christina met in January of 2011 when Nathan walked into the elementary school where Christina worked. Nathan had been saved just a few months earlier in the wilderness of British Columbia, while listening to John MacArthur proclaim the Gospel over the radio. Nathan’s testimony and clear explanation of the Gospel led Christina to Christ not long after. They became close friends, growing in the grace and knowledge of their Savior together. In 2012 they were married, and God was gracious in blending their two families into one. They have 5 children between the ages of 17-25 and have been married for 10 years.

Both Nathan and Christina left professional careers in 2020 for Nathan to pursue a call to ministry. He has now completed the Master of Divinity program at The Master’s Seminary. Previously Nathan also completed a degree in Linguistics and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. He had a private practice and worked for a local school district providing S-LP services for 16 years. He was also a combat soldier, for a time, with the Canadian Army. Christina was an elementary school teacher and vice principal for 22 years.

Both Nathan and Christina grew up on Vancouver Island, Nathan in the Comox Valley, and Christina in Sidney and Victoria. Their love for the Island, the communities, and the people have compelled them to return to Vancouver Island to shepherd God’s people and bring the Gospel to the lost. With nearly a million people on Vancouver Island and so few biblical churches, Nathan and Christina desire to plant a church in a location to be determined to have the most impact for the Gospel.

Preparing to plant a new church

Please pray for Nathan & Christina, for the new church, and for many souls to be saved through this ministry and the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on Vancouver Island! (Join their prayer team below)

We envision a three-phase process leading toward launching a new church under Nathan's leadership. Phase one, below, is expected to last at least 6 months, and will involve giving leadership to a weekly, evening worship service in Victoria. Phase two will see Nathan focus his energies on the city or neighbourhood where he chooses to plant a new church. This phase may take 6-12 months. Phase three expects to see all this work and preparation culminate in the launch of a new church meeting weekly on Sunday mornings in the chosen location. This is when Nathan's vision and ministry becomes the shared vision and ministry of a whole congregation: to begin a work of making disciples in that city through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This phase, by God's grace, will endure for generations to come.
